Around the World Flight

I started my around the world (RTW) flight yesterday – September 25, 2012 – and boy is it a doozy. There are 32 legs starting and ending at San Diego, California, USA – KSAN. I’ll cover all 7 continents and land at the “10 Most Extreme” airports (at least according to the History Channel’s TV show.)  I’m really doing this flight to win some awards at a virtual airline I fly for – Freight Dogs virtual Air Cargo.

I’ll post regular updates on my mobile website: http://m.teamsiems.com/FDC-RTW.php

Here is my route:
KSAN-KSFO-KEGE-KMEM-MHTG-KFLL-TNCM-TFFJ-TNCM-KMEM-EGNX-LXGB-LPMA-EGNX-EDFH-LFMN-LFLJ-LOWI-EDFH-HECA-OMDB-WIII-VHHH-WSSS-YPDN-YSSY-NZCH-NZIR-SCEL-SKBO-MMMX-KONT-KSAN

Round the world

This isn’t the first time I’ve flown around the virtual world, but it is the longest trip I will have made.

UPDATE:

Well things sort of went haywire in Cairo (HECA). First my online client crashed then my Flight Simulator crashed. I was waylaid for 2 months trying to fix both. I finally made it to Jakarta (WIII) on January 26. Now it’s a matter of keeping the planes running and hoping the network stays up.

UPDATE:

I finally made it back to San Diego on June 9 – almost 9 months after I started! All but 4 legs were revenue flights and all were online on VATSIM. I flew more than 40,000 nautical miles.
